ILOC Fellowship recruiting for first cohort of participants!

ILOC (Investing in Leaders of Color) is here! MDC is excited to share with you a bit about this innovative new fellowship.

Investing in Leaders of Color is a one-year, leadership, and capacity-building initiative to acknowledge and support the work of skilled leaders of color who serve communities of color throughout the Carolinas. The overall purpose of the fellowship is to intentionally invest in nonprofit leaders of color and the organizations they lead, and to build a broader ecosystem of support for leaders who have experienced systemic disadvantages in their work within the philanthropic and nonprofit field.

We are currently recruiting for our first cohort of participants! Fellows will receive general operating support (up to $25,000), a stipend (up to $10,000), technical support, capacity building, social capital and network building, and the opportunity to co-design alongside their peers and funders throughout their year in the Fellowship.

The initial six leaders selected for the cohort represent the following areas: Durham, Winston-Salem, and Ahoskie in North Carolina; Greenville, Greenwood, and North Charleston in South Carolina. We hope to select leaders representative of other areas in the Carolinas including the Western, Southern Piedmont, and Coastal Plain regions in North Carolina; the Midlands, Pee Dee, and Coastal regions in South Carolina.

Please share this announcement with your networks. The deadline to apply for ILOC is March 15, 2022.
