Joey Rauch is a Program Assistant for the MDC Rural Forward program. In this role, he partners with Partnership Manager Phillip Sheldon in Halifax County and the organization’s work on financial health, including the Earned Income Tax Credit Research in Rural NC and VITA Program Research Programs.
A senior at Duke University, Joey majors in both Public Policy and Dance with a concentration in Social Issues and Social Action. He is interested in how local and regional government and not-for-profit institutions advance social equity through asset-based and place-based narratives.
Previously, Joey served as a research assistant for the North Carolina Leadership Forum where he equipped business, government, and not-for-profit leaders with the will, skill, and relationships to create deliberative cross-sector collaboration. He aided with the forum’s communications, report writing, development, and research.
Originally from Dubuque, Iowa, Joey currently calls Durham, North Carolina home.
