Jing Murray

Jing is a Program Assistant for MDC’s Rural Forward program, supporting Healthy Places NC in Beaufort County and the NC Inclusive Disaster Recovery Network (NCIDR).

Jing is currently pursuing a Master in Public Health at the University of North Carolina with a concentration in Global Health. Prior to UNC, Jing graduated from Western Washington University in 2019 with a double bachelors in Spanish and Sociology and a minor in International Studies. After graduation she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, where she worked with the rural highland communities to reduce non-communicable disease incidence.

She is passionate about increasing equitable access to healthcare and health information in rural populations in the U.S. She first became interested in rural health access after studying Appalachian communities’ access to health services. She looks forward to working with Rural Forward!
