Harini Patabendi is a Program Assistant for MDC’s Rural Forward program. Harini received her Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of Maryland, College Park. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Public Health at Rutgers University with a concentration in Global Health. Before MDC, Harini worked at the Community Engagement Department at Holy Cross Health in Maryland. She focused on providing programs and services to underserved populations to eliminate health disparities by addressing the social determinants of health. She has worked on projects related to diabetes prevention, food literacy, vaccine initiatives, and health fair planning.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in five countries, Harini embraces diversity and is passionate about providing culturally competent services to advocate for vulnerable populations.
