Elise Campbell
Program Administrator
Durham, NC
Elise Campbell is a Program Administrator for MDC’s Rural Prosperity and Investment team, joining the team in October 2023. With a passion for contributing to progressive social action related to racial and gender equity and enhancing community membership, they provide internal and external support through program organization, evaluation, and relation assistance.
Elise was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and moved around the country every three years of their life until landing in Jacksonville, a small military town in Eastern NC. Elise then received their Social Work degree from the University of Nevada, Reno where they began their involvement in policy work for rural Nevadan communities, as well as community outreach and organizing related to housing reform and addiction recovery resources. These experiences are what sparked their passion for rural prosperity and the significance of implementing programs that are community, place-centered. Prior to MDC, Elise worked as a volunteer coordinator for a nonprofit located in a Lake Tahoe State Park and with a women’s and families shelter located in Sparks, NV.
Having moved back to North Carolina at the end of 2022, Elise is happily located in Durham, NC where they enjoy spending time outdoors, listening to live music, eating good food, and spending time with their cat.
