Susan Nobblitt leads design of Home-Based Child Care Community of Practice in new Program Manager role

MDC is excited to announce that Susan Nobblitt has been promoted to Program Manager, leading the design and facilitation of our Home-Based Child Care Community of Practice (HBCC COP).  Susan will work closely with MDC Program Director, Jenna Barnes, and the Great Expectations team (along with another Program Manager supporting the HBCC COP).

Previously, Susan was a Program Associate at MDC, supporting project teams across MDC’s work in early childhood education, family economic security, community change, and strategic philanthropy as part of the Learning for Equity (LENS-NC), Great Expectations (GE) and Investing in Leaders of Color (ILOC) teams. Susan managed databases and correspondence, developed presentations, and coordinated the logistics of major internal and external convenings.

Susan grew up and has lived most of her life in Durham, N.C. She studied public health and developed a passion for social justice with a focus on ending poverty to improve health outcomes and begin to mend the moral failings of our society.

Before coming to MDC, Susan was with the American Sexual Health Association, where she supported several departments and managed a text line for teens to ask sexual health questions. She has a B.S. in biochemistry from Elon University with a minor in public health.

We’ve appreciated Susan’s insight, tech-savvy, and experience during her tenure at MDC, and believe the HBCC COP initiative will benefit from her work with the LENS community of practice.

Congratulations to Susan as she embarks on this exciting new leadership role!
